In this episode of the “Rappers Over Thirty Podcast”: Imp discusses how Ms. Toi inspired him to take care of the long overdue business of copyrighting, publishing, and joining Sound Exchange and encourages his listeners to do the same. He interviews Ms. Toi a rap music boss who is featured on one of Ice Cube’s biggest songs “You Can Do It” which was released on the soundtrack for the feature film “Next Friday”. Ms. Toi shares information about her being born in Chicago and moving to Inglewood California. Her pursing an interest in hip hop as a dancer then eventually recording her first song “Life Styles of the Rough and Sexy” with “New Editions” Ronnie Devoe”.
She talks about joining the rap group “Militia” and how her performance on a remix called “Burn” led to her big break when she was invited to record with “Ice Cube” and “Mack 10”. She shares information about her production company and label “G.O Entertainment”, being a boss with a great team to help with other aspects of the business.
